Cattle, pigs, sheep and goats are most susceptible to the disease. It is primarily characterized by various (vesicles) wounds in the animal's mouth, nails, breasts, and rumen. The animal shows sensitivity according to its age and gender. The causative agent of foot and mouth disease is a virus, and there are 7 different types. These are called Type A, O, C, Sat 2, Sat 3 and Asia 1. There are also many subtypes within the types. Protective vaccines are prepared accordingly. Contact of sick animals with healthy animals is contaminated with urine, manure, milk, semen. In addition, it is also possible to be transmitted by products such as skin, feed, bedding, grass, water, caregivers, transportation vehicles, salami, sausages made from diseased meat, and carriers such as mice, birds, snakes, turtles, which are contaminated by the disease agent. Alum is transmitted by direct contact between flocks and inhalation of airborne virus. Sap virus can be carried many kilometers by wind on land. In water, the distance increases even more. Vehicles, implements, agricultural products and people also act as transport. Blisters filled with water are the first symptoms. Other symptoms include lameness, lethargy, loss of appetite, and weaning. Saliva flows from the mouths of the patients like a string, fever is 40-41 C, mouth smacking and weaning, water sacs (vesicles) in the size of lentils or hazelnuts are seen on the tongue, gums, inner part of the lip. In the following days, infected wounds occur between the toenails, breasts, horns, and nose. The disease progresses very quickly in culture breed cattle and young calves. They can die suddenly from breathing difficulties and heart failure before the symptoms of the disease are fully manifested.
